This book was created by two kindergarten teachers who cumulatively have taught kindergarten for over 30 years. Little Readers for Little Readers is a compilation of their childrens' favorite little books.
The students make ten beginning readers in this exciting reading program integrating traditional kindergarten skills at the level of the emergent reader. The children are the illustrators of these books; this emp owers them with the pride of ownership. After extensive use in the classroom the children are able to take their books home. Unlike other reading programs, they will be able to compile their own library of beginning readers. Young readers can now read and reread their books on a daily basis developing and expanding their knowledge of phonics and sight word vocabularies. This program bridges the gap between school and home. They are learning to read by reading.
This compilation of favorite little readers is the most teacher- friendly manual on the market today. Each of the ten little readers includes: a picture of the finished little book; a teacher page, which gives step-by-step instructions on how to make the books; a volunteer page which gives specific directions for preparing the little readers; the text is provided for the teacher to enlarg e and easily make a pocket chart or big book; and finally the child's copy to be reproduced.
Little Readers for Little Readers provides affordable, colorful and exciting beginning readers. The 10 titles include: We Are Kindergarteners, I Can Read Signs, The Terrific Taco, My Star Book, How To Make A Snowflake, My Sunflower Book, Who Lives In The Sea?, My Book of Friends and We Are First Graders
